Who is Ben Cope?
Ben Cope is a lifelong Georgia resident, small-business owner, and foster-adoptive father running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District. For nearly a decade, Ben has called Paulding County and the 14th District home, where he is deeply invested in faith, family, and community.
Raised in Columbus, Georgia, Ben graduated from Pacelli High School before moving to Kennesaw in 1998. He earned his B.A. in International Affairs from Kennesaw State University in 2002. During college, Ben completed a three-month internship in Washington, D.C. with Presidential Classroom, working with high school juniors and seniors during their week-long programs in the nation’s capital. He helped coordinate logistics, bus transfers, meal tickets, community service workshops, and other details that kept the program running smoothly, an early taste of public service and problem-solving in a high-stakes environment.
After graduation, Ben worked at Kennesaw State University for four years in the Presentation Technology Department as an Instructional Technology Support Specialist, managing a multimedia computer lab and leading workshops on multimedia tools and technology. In 2006, he stepped out in faith and left the university to start his own business, Internet Genius Consulting, a full-service web design and internet marketing agency. As Founder & CEO, Ben has spent nearly two decades helping entrepreneurs and organizations grow, giving him a clear understanding of what small-business owners are up against: taxes, regulation, and uncertainty created by a federal government that is too big and too intrusive.
Ben and his wife, Angel, have been married for 23 years. They have four children, including two daughters and two sons. The Cope family served as a licensed foster family in Georgia for five years, partnering with FaithBridge, a Christian agency that equips local churches to respond to the foster care crisis. Both of their sons were adopted separately through foster care—one after more than five years in the system. These experiences shaped Ben’s deep commitment to foster care reform and his proudly pro-life convictions.
The Copes attend Liberty Square Church in Cartersville, Georgia, where faith is central to their family and to Ben’s approach to leadership. His core values are simple and non-negotiable: faith, family, and freedom.
Service to the community has always been a priority for Ben. He has served for more than 20 years on the Board of Directors for Reflections of Trinity, a nonprofit food pantry based in Powder Springs that currently serves more than 1,100 families every week from 43 different Georgia counties. For the last three years, he has served as Chairman of the Board, helping guide the organization’s growth and outreach. Ben also serves on the Board of Directors for Life Impact, a ministry that equips men to be better husbands, fathers, and leaders.
Ben is running for Congress because he believes Republicans in the 14th District deserve a representative who is serious, solutions-focused, and committed to serving the people, not chasing cameras or personal celebrity. He believes the conservative movement is strongest when it is grounded in principle, rooted in the local community, and willing to do the hard work of governing.
When he’s not serving his clients or his community, Ben enjoys playing the piano, woodworking, and spending time with Angel and their children.
