Where Does Ben Stand on the Issues?

Getting Washington’s Spending Under Control

Washington is drowning us in debt, inflation, and waste while families in Northwest Georgia stretch every dollar. I’ll fight to cut reckless spending, secure real accountability for every tax dollar, and push for a Balanced Budget Amendment so the federal government finally lives by the same rules as your household.

America doesn’t have a revenue problem; we have a spending problem. Washington borrows and prints money like there’s no tomorrow, and families here in Georgia’s 14th District pay the price through higher prices at the pump, the grocery store, and the mortgage or rent.

In Congress, I will:

  • Fight for a Balanced Budget Amendment so Washington has to live within its means.

  • Support zero-based budgeting—every program must justify its existence instead of being auto-renewed forever.

  • Target waste, fraud, and abuse across agencies and claw back money from programs that don’t serve the American people.

  • Tie any future large bills to real offsetting cuts and strong oversight, not gimmicks.

Northwest Georgia families have to balance their books. It’s time Washington did too.

My goal is simple: stop mortgaging our children’s future and get this country back on track.

A Fairer, Simpler, Pro-Growth Tax System

Our tax code is too complicated and punishes work, savings, and small business. I support President Trump’s efforts to cut taxes, simplify the code, and expand Trump Accounts so parents can start their kids with real ownership and opportunity from birth.

The current tax system is a mess, full of loopholes for the well-connected and headaches for working families and small businesses. It should not take an accountant and a lawyer just to figure out what you owe.

President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill made the middle-class tax cuts permanent, expanded deductions for things like tips and overtime, increased the child tax credit, and expanded the adoption tax credit, relieving pressure on working families and rewarding hard work.

One of the most promising reforms is Trump Accounts. These tax-advantaged investment accounts give American children a stake in our economy from the day they’re born. Under this program, kids born between 2025 and 2028 receive a federal seed deposit, with additional contributions possible from parents, employers, charities, and private donors like the Dell family, who have pledged billions. These accounts can grow over time and be used for education, a first home, or starting a business.

As your Congressman, I will:

  • Support further simplification of the tax code and move toward a flatter, fairer system.

  • Protect and strengthen Trump Accounts and similar tools that help families build generational wealth instead of government growing bigger.

  • Cut taxes and red tape for small businesses and self-employed workers who are the backbone of Northwest Georgia.

  • Oppose any attempts by Democrats to roll back Trump’s tax cuts or to weaponize the IRS against political opponents.

The tax code should reward work, savings, and entrepreneurship, not punish them.

Patient-Centered, Patient-Driven Health Care

I oppose socialized medicine and one-size-fits-all government “solutions.” Health care should be patient-centered and market-driven, with more choice, transparency, and affordability, not more bureaucrats in Washington.

America still has some of the best doctors, hospitals, and medical innovation in the world, but costs are out of control. Washington’s answer is always the same: more bureaucracy, more mandates, more control.

Under President Trump’s second term, we’ve seen steps to roll back heavy-handed federal control, unwind some of the most harmful parts of Biden-era regulations, and stop taxpayer dollars from being used to fund radical gender ideology and irreversible medical procedures through federal programs.

I believe real reform means:

  • Putting patients and doctors back in charge, not government bureaucrats or insurance lobbyists.

  • Expanding price transparency, so you can compare costs and make informed choices.

  • Increasing access to Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and other tax-advantaged tools so families can build up funds for care over time.

  • Allowing portability of health plans so changing jobs doesn’t mean losing coverage.

  • Protecting conscience rights for providers who refuse to participate in abortions or gender-transition procedures.

We should improve affordability and access without turning health care into another Washington-run program that rations care and lowers quality.

Restoring Trust in Government

Americans don’t trust Washington, and too often, they’re right not to. I will fight for transparency, strict ethics, and accountability so government serves the people again, not the political class.

The federal government has become a permanent ruling class that sees itself as unaccountable to the people. Agencies ignore laws, leak selectively, and target those they disagree with politically. That has to end.

President Trump’s return to office has exposed just how deeply some federal agencies have been captured by ideology instead of law. As the administration pushes to roll back abuses in areas like Title IX, DEI mandates, and runaway regulators, Congress must step up and reassert its oversight role.

In Congress, I will:

  • Support strict ethics rules and real penalties for officials who abuse their power.

  • Back full transparency for how federal dollars are spent, including searchable online databases.

  • Push to defund and restructure agencies that have become political weapons instead of neutral enforcers of the law.

  • Support protections for whistleblowers who expose corruption and waste.

Public office is a sacred trust, not a ticket to fame, fortune, or power. I intend to treat it that way.

American Energy Independence & Lower Costs

Energy costs hit every family and every business. I support unleashing American oil, gas, coal, nuclear, and innovation, and rolling back Biden-era mandates and regulations that drove up prices and tried to force everyone into electric vehicles.

When energy prices go up, everything gets more expensive: food, housing, transportation, and manufacturing. Under Biden, we saw an all-out war on affordable energy and a rush to force families into expensive EVs and unreliable grids.

President Trump has reversed course: his administration has moved to roll back aggressive fuel-efficiency and emissions mandates, block California’s attempt to ban gas-powered cars, and wind down federal EV subsidies that distorted the market. At the same time, his Big Beautiful Bill tilts policy back toward American fossil fuels and away from costly, dependency-creating green subsidies.

I support an “all-of-the-above” American energy strategy that:

  • Unleashes domestic oil, gas, and coal production here at home.

  • Accelerates next-generation nuclear as a reliable, emissions-free baseload power source.

  • Streamlines permits for pipelines, refineries, and critical infrastructure.

  • Stops punishing U.S. energy producers while giving China and OPEC a free pass.

Energy policy should focus on affordability, reliability, and security, not virtue signaling.

Securing Our Border & Fixing a Broken Immigration System

A country without borders is not a country. I’ll support President Trump’s efforts to finish the wall, increase deportations of criminals, and enforce our laws so we have a legal, fair, and secure immigration system.

The crisis at our southern border is not an accident; it’s the direct result of policy choices. Cartels are making billions trafficking people and drugs. Fentanyl is killing our neighbors. Local communities, schools, hospitals, and law enforcement are overwhelmed.

President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill devotes tens of billions of dollars to border security, including physical barriers, technology, additional agents, and increased capacity to detain and deport illegal entrants. That’s the kind of serious investment we should have made years ago.

In Congress, I will:

  • Support finishing and strengthening the border wall and physical barriers.

  • Increase support for Border Patrol, ICE, and local law enforcement.

  • End “catch and release” and restore policies that deter illegal entry.

  • Deport criminal illegal aliens and crack down on drug and human trafficking.

  • Oppose amnesty schemes that reward those who broke our laws.

We can welcome legal immigrants who follow the rules while firmly rejecting open borders and chaos.

Defending Life, Family, and Faith

I believe life is sacred, families are foundational, and our rights come from God, not government. I will defend the unborn, protect women’s sports and spaces, and stand up for religious liberty and parental rights.

Northwest Georgia’s conservative values are rooted in faith, family, and responsibility. A strong country starts with strong families and a culture that values life and truth.

I am unapologetically pro-life. I support protecting unborn children, expanding adoption, strengthening crisis pregnancy centers, and helping mothers choose life, not abortion. President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill expands the adoption tax credit and increases the child tax credit, making it a little easier for families who say yes to life.

I also strongly support President Trump’s actions to restore common sense in law and policy:

  • His executive order defining sex as male or female in federal policy and documents.

  • His “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” executive order, which protects women’s and girls’ sports by basing competition on biological sex and enforcing Title IX accordingly.

These actions defend women’s privacy, safety, and fairness in sports and spaces.

In Congress, I will:

  • Support federal protections for the unborn and for conscience rights.

  • Back policies that strengthen marriage, adoption, and parental rights.

  • Protect religious liberty so individuals, churches, and ministries can live out their faith without government harassment.

  • Stand firm against radical gender ideology being pushed on children in schools and through federal programs.

We must pass on to our children a nation that still recognizes truth, honors God, and protects the most vulnerable.

Protecting the 2nd Amendment

The Second Amendment is a God-given right recognized by our Constitution. I will oppose every effort to restrict law-abiding gun owners and support Trump-era reforms that roll back unfair federal burdens on firearms.

The right to keep and bear arms is essential to a free people. It protects our families, our property, and ultimately our liberty.

Criminals and cartels do not follow gun laws. Piling new restrictions on law-abiding citizens does nothing to stop crime—it only disarms the innocent. That’s why I support President Trump’s agenda of enforcing existing laws against criminals while rolling back unnecessary federal burdens on responsible gun owners.

The One Big Beautiful Bill even went so far as to remove suppressors (“silencers”) from the National Firearms Act’s special tax and registration scheme, ending the outdated $200 tax and lengthy wait times for law-abiding citizens. This is the kind of common-sense reform that respects the Second Amendment while still prosecuting actual crime.

In Congress, I will:

  • Oppose so-called “assault weapons bans,” magazine bans, and federal gun registries.

  • Support national reciprocity for concealed carry permits.

  • Back efforts to strengthen penalties for violent criminals who use guns in crimes.

  • Defend hunting, sporting, and self-defense rights for the next generation.

The problem is not the law-abiding gun owner; it’s criminals and a broken justice system that refuses to hold them accountable.

Empowering Parents & Improving Education

Parents—not the federal government—should be in charge of their children’s education. I’ll fight for school choice, local control, parental rights, and common-sense protections for girls’ sports and privacy in schools.

Our kids get one shot at a childhood and one shot at an education. We can’t afford a system that focuses more on ideology and bureaucracy than reading, writing, math, and real-world skills.

In the Georgia legislature, conservatives have pushed school choice, special needs scholarships, and charter school expansion. At the federal level, President Trump’s second-term agenda is pushing in the same direction: more choice, more alternatives to the four-year-college-only track, and less power for the federal Department of Education. His Big Beautiful Bill expands eligibility for trade-focused “Workforce Pell Grants” and reins in the Education Secretary’s ability to micro-regulate colleges.

Just as importantly, Trump’s “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” order and related Title IX actions are reshaping school sports and policies nationwide—insisting that girls’ sports and spaces remain for biological females, and that federal funds not be used to erase basic biological reality.

In Congress, I will:

  • Support school choice: public, private, charter, home, hybrid, and trade schools.

  • Stand up for parental rights to know and guide what is taught in classrooms.

  • Oppose federal mandates that force radical gender ideology or political indoctrination on kids.

  • Support returning more control back to states and local communities.

Education policy should serve children and parents, not unions and bureaucrats.

Keeping America’s Defense Strong

Peace through strength works. I support President Trump’s efforts to rebuild our military, invest in next-generation defense, and put America’s security first, not globalist agendas.

We live in a dangerous world, from China and Russia to Iran and terrorist groups. The first duty of the federal government is to keep the American people safe.

President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill significantly increases defense spending for shipbuilding, munitions, a proposed “Golden Dome” missile defense system, military housing, Coast Guard capabilities, and cutting-edge systems like unmanned drones and AI-enabled defense technology. These investments are about deterrence: if our enemies know we are strong, they are less likely to test us.

Under this administration, America is again signaling that:

  • We will maintain the strongest military in the world.

  • We will support our troops and veterans with the training, tools, and care they deserve.

  • We will not outsource our security to international committees or global institutions that do not share our values.

As your Congressman, I will:

  • Support robust, targeted defense funding focused on readiness, modernization, and troop welfare.

  • Demand clear missions and exit strategies before committing troops to conflict.

  • Ensure that our military is focused on warfighting excellence, not DEI checkboxes and social experiments.

A strong America is a safer America—for our families, our allies, and the cause of freedom around the world.
